How the Mini Sudoku Solver Works

Our Mini Sudoku solver gives you today's answer and hints for the daily LinkedIn Mini Sudoku puzzle. Click any empty cell to reveal its correct number. If you'd rather not choose, Next Cell reveals the next unsolved cell in reading order (left to right, top to bottom). Reveal All shows the complete solution, and Clear All hides every revealed answer while keeping the given numbers in place.

The cell-by-cell approach is the most useful. Confirming one stubborn cell often breaks open a row, column, or box that was holding you up, and the rest follows from standard Sudoku logic. That's the advantage over sites that just show the full grid: you keep as much of the puzzle as you want.

Use the puzzle picker to pull up any previous day and view its solution. The archive includes every past Mini Sudoku puzzle.

What Is LinkedIn Mini Sudoku?

Mini Sudoku is a daily puzzle on LinkedIn, created in collaboration with Nikoli (the original publishers of Sudoku) and Thomas Snyder, a three-time World Sudoku Champion. It uses a compact 6x6 grid divided into six 2x3 rectangular boxes, which makes it quicker than a standard 9x9 Sudoku but still requires genuine deduction.

The rules are identical to regular Sudoku, just scaled down. Place the numbers 1 through 6 so that each row, column, and 2x3 box contains every digit exactly once. Every puzzle has a unique solution reachable through logic alone, no guessing required.

A new puzzle drops every day at midnight Pacific Time. Mini Sudoku is one of seven daily games LinkedIn currently offers. If you play the others, we have solver tools for Crossclimb, Queens, Tango, Pinpoint, Zip, and Patches.

Tips for Solving Mini Sudoku

Start by scanning each row, column, and box for digits that appear five times. If five of the six numbers are already placed, the remaining cell is forced. This sounds obvious, but on a 6x6 grid it happens more often than you'd expect.

Next, look for cells where only one number fits. Check the row, column, and box that intersect at a given cell. If five of the six digits are already accounted for across those three groups, the answer is the missing one. This technique, called naked singles, solves most of the grid on easier days.

When that stalls, try hidden singles. If a number can only go in one cell within a row, column, or box, it must go there, even if other numbers could also fit that cell. The smaller grid means hidden singles appear frequently.

If you're stuck, use the solver to reveal a single cell rather than the full grid. One confirmed number is usually enough to restart the deduction chain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mini Sudoku is a daily 6x6 Sudoku puzzle on LinkedIn, created in collaboration with Nikoli (the original publishers of Sudoku) and Thomas Snyder (three-time World Sudoku Champion). Fill every cell with the numbers 1 through 6 so that each row, column, and 2x3 box contains each digit exactly once. A new puzzle is released every day at midnight Pacific Time.

Place the numbers 1 through 6 in every empty cell of the 6x6 grid. Each row must contain each number exactly once, each column must contain each number exactly once, and each of the six 2x3 rectangular boxes must contain each number exactly once. Every puzzle has a unique solution that can be reached through logic alone, no guessing needed.

Mini Sudoku has three rules: each row must contain the numbers 1 through 6 exactly once, each column must contain 1 through 6 exactly once, and each 2x3 rectangular box must contain 1 through 6 exactly once. The rules are identical to standard 9x9 Sudoku, just with a smaller grid and the digits 1 through 6 instead of 1 through 9.

Regular Sudoku uses a 9x9 grid with nine 3x3 boxes and the digits 1 through 9. Mini Sudoku uses a 6x6 grid with six 2x3 boxes and the digits 1 through 6. The rules are identical, just scaled down. Mini Sudoku puzzles are quicker to solve but still require genuine logical deduction.

The solver lets you reveal the answer at your own pace. Click any empty cell to see its correct number. Use Next Cell to reveal the next unsolved cell in reading order, or use Reveal All for the complete solution. Clear All hides every revealed answer while keeping the original given numbers. The puzzle picker lets you look up answers from previous days.

All LinkedIn Games, including Mini Sudoku, reset daily at midnight Pacific Time (PT). All players worldwide receive the same puzzle at the same time. If you're in a different time zone, the new puzzle may appear during your morning rather than at midnight local time.

Use the puzzle picker on our Mini Sudoku solver tool to view answers from the last few days. The picker shows the three most recent puzzles so you can catch up on any you missed.
