Hints for September 18, 2026

Want a nudge without spoilers? Reveal a hint or two. The cards get stronger as you go, so take only the clue you need.

How the Worldle Hint Page Works

The four Worldle hints appear in rising order of strength so you can take only the nudge you need. Continent first narrows the map to one region. Currency then cuts the field further, because some currencies such as the euro are shared across several countries. The starting letter shrinks the remaining list, and the capital is the strongest clue short of the full answer.

The country of the day sits behind letter tiles: tap one tile to check a single letter, or tap Show answer to see the whole name, with a direct link to play. The date picker opens the same hints and answer for any past day we hold. The page follows your local date, matching Worldle’s reset at midnight in your device’s time zone.

How to Play Worldle

Worldle is a daily geography game in which you guess a country from its outline in six tries. Each guess must be a valid country or territory. After every guess the game returns three pieces of feedback: the distance in kilometers from the center of your guess to the center of the answer, a compass arrow showing the direction to head, and a proximity percentage.

A new puzzle appears every day at midnight in your local time zone. Once you solve the main outline, bonus rounds unlock: Neighbors, Capital and Flag, plus further geography trivia reachable from a menu. Worldle also offers a separate Practice Mode if you want to train without using the daily puzzle.

Full rules appear on the Worldle rules page; additional details on reset, distance and territories are in the Worldle FAQ. You can play Worldle directly from the official site.

Worldle and Wordle Are Different Games

In Wordle you guess a five-letter word; in Worldle you guess a country from its shape. Wordle was developed by Josh Wardle and is now owned by the New York Times. Worldle was created by Antoine Teuf, a French web developer, and is run by Teuteuf Games. Worldle’s own FAQ states that the two games share the daily puzzle format and social sharing but that Worldle has “no association with Wordle (developed by Josh Wardle and now owned by the New York Times).”

Worldle launched in January 2022 as a tribute to Wordle. Players looking for the word game can find help on our Wordle hints page. This page is an independent guide from The Word Finder and has no connection with Teuteuf Games.

Tips for Finding the Country Faster

Read the direction arrow before the distance number. The arrow shows which way to search next; the kilometer figure only tells you how far.

Distances are measured between country centers, so a large neighboring country can still return a high number even when the borders touch.

Do not rule out territories. Worldle includes them under the ISO 3166-1 standard, which means small islands and overseas territories can be the answer.

Take the hints in the order they appear. Starting with the continent often saves two guesses and functions as practical worldle help when the outline alone is ambiguous.

More Daily Geography Games

Flagle is the free daily flag game in which you identify a country from its flag in six tries and then play bonus rounds. Travle asks you to get between countries in as few guesses as possible. GeoGrid is a daily trivia game that tests geography knowledge.
