How Cubewords Works

Cubewords takes a crossword and wraps it around a cube. All six faces belong to the same puzzle, and an answer that reaches the edge of one face carries on around the corner onto the next. You drag to turn the cube, tap a square and type; the letters you fill in on one face help with the clues on the other side.

There are three crossword cubes every day. The Easy cube is 3×3×3; the Medium and Hard cubes are 4×4×4, with room for longer answers. On the first Sunday of each month the Hard puzzle becomes an 8×8×8 Mega cube. A small 2×2×2 Mini cube is free alongside the Easy cube, with puzzles dating from October 1, 2026, and Wordwind is the game’s separate daily word find. The full tour is on Cubewords’ how it works page.

Which Cubes Are Free

Today’s Easy cube and today’s Mini cube are free to play without an account. Cubewords Plus, an optional monthly or yearly subscription, opens the Medium and Hard cubes, the monthly Mega cube and every past day, along with more looks and win animations. This page covers the free cubes only.

How to Use This Page Without Spoiling the Cube

Every clue keeps its answer behind its own Reveal button, so you can check the one you are stuck on and leave the rest; the letter count is shown up front. Tap a clue to light up its squares on the cube without revealing anything, or tap a square to find the clues that pass through it.

Each cube opens on its first Across clue. Drag the cube to turn it, or click it and use the arrow keys. When you pick a clue, the cube turns to face the corner that answer goes round, with its two faces side by side, so a word that runs from the Front onto the Right reads straight round the corner, just as it does in the game.

Cubewords Tips

Start with the short answers: each one hands you letters for the clues that cross it. Turn the cube after every answer, because a word that runs around an edge has just put letters on the next face too.

Read the face list. On this page each clue says which faces its answer crosses, so you can see which corner a word turns before you guess it.

More Word Puzzles

For flat crosswords, our crossword solver finds answers from a clue and any letters you know. If you enjoy finding words on a grid, the Boggle solver and the Strands solver cover two more daily favourites, and the game solvers hub has the rest.
