WAZZOCK (plural WAZZOCKs) (British, originally, Northern England, mildly, pejorative, slang) A stupid or annoying person.

Etymology

Possibly from wiseacre, influenced by pillock, or possibly wazz The word - correctly spelled "wassock" was invented by three friends in Leeds (of which the contributor is one) in 1966 or 1967, used in their newsletters pinned to telegraph poles in the Belle Isle region of Leeds. It was hoped to create a word that would become widely used, and made its first broadcast appearance on Radio 1 in late 1967 or early 1968.
