It was a beautiful Saturday in the month of June. The De la Matta’s family were at the famous Festival de las Flores in the city of Aibonito, Puerto Rico. The De la Matta’s were a small family from Aibonito the members were: Elsa, the grandmother; Alma, the mother; and Didi, the daughter of Alma. They lived alone in their small house in the town Robles of Aibonito, they got along well and were a happy small household and family.
Elsa was the most excited to be there, she wore a cute purple flower blouse and short pants that were long enough to reach her knees. She also wore comfortable sandals and a hat to protect her from the sun. Alma was wearing a simple green dress with sandals, and Didi wore a short blue shirt and on top a jean jumpsuit with her favorite pair of sneakers. It was a hot summer so obviously they were all sweating, but this still didn’t make Elsa want to leave the festival.
Didi was tired, it was already 3 pm and they had been there since 11 am. She wasn’t an amateur with flowers like her grandma, she even found it boring. Though she had to admit the flowers were pretty. While being bored she watched a little kid steal a flowers pot. She stared at the kid. So out of boredom she went to the kid and grabbed the pot from him. The little kid ran away from Didi. Gladly no one was watching so she stole the pot successfully from the kid. Or so she thought...
Elsa was watching the flowers and the shops. She also saw the little kid stealing the pot, she thought That little rascal! . But what came after made her feel disappointed of her Didi. Elsa saw how Didi stole the pot from the kid, and made a face of disappointment, her eyes turned sad, and her face went from glowing to gloomy.
In the rest of the day Didi noticed that her grandma was acting cold to her. It was now 4:30 pm and they were about to leave. Didi decided to confront her grandma and asked why she was being so cold to her. Elsa stared at her granddaughter and told her Ladrón que roba a ladrón, tiene mil años de perdón. Then Didi understood, Elsa saw when she stole the pot from the kid. Didi then made a sad face. Didi then apologized, but Elsa said that she should apologize to the kid and return the pot to the shop.
Didi did that, she apologized to the shop and kid; the kid also apologized for stealing the pot. Her grandma was now proud of her, for admitting her mistakes. Elsa then went to Didi and said to her good job.
After, they went to Chili’s, and they ate. They didn’t like the food that much, but they had a great time together.
