My name is Moctezuma and I live in a town called Arroyo I VERB in “Escuela Intermedia José Horacio Cora”, in Puerto Rico. During my childhood mi grandfather always said a lot of sayings that almost never made sense to me, but one of them always stayed with me during my childhood: “vale más el NOUNque la NOUN” or the NOUNis worth more than the NOUN. As a child I never understood what he meant by that, so at some point in my life I just forgot about it. As time went by, I grew up, I got a job, a house and eventually a family. On my 90th birthday after my birthday party was over and the guests had left, I decided to go to the NOUNand watch the NOUN.
As the NOUN went down, I started to VERB back at my ADVERB and remembered all the things that I had done like starting a family, graduating from my high school in Arroyo, the first NOUNI got, my friends, and all of the sudden I remember the saying that my grandfather use to say: “vale más el rabo que la chiringa”. After all these years, decades, and almost a century, at that moment I finally understood what my grandfather meant. You are the “Chiringa” and the tail are your actions and the consequences of your choices, meaning that your actions and the consequences are the things that make you who you are, and keep you in balance so you can keep up with life, and that tail is what you leave behind when you are gone.
