It’s 2027: This Is HFMA

We just rang in the New Year on Jan. 1, 2027. An ambitious  NOUN HIHCI professional is working this New Year’s Day on a  NOUN HIHCS and seeks research from a reliable and credible organization, HFMA. The  NOUN STAGE carries this headline: “The preeminent leader in achieving cost effectiveness of health.” The visitor finds multiple pieces of  NOUN BM related to her report titled: “Focusing on  NOUN OR PHRASE HIHCS - the cost curve finally bends.” This is what she finds: • A design-thinking online discussion group on how health systems can collaborate across finance/clinical/technology lines to deliver preventive care to underserved populations. • A video tour of how one health system has streamlined clinical operations by using data collected through wearable technologies to monitor patients. • An interview with Karen DeSalvo, chief health officer at Google, on public-private collaboration to tackle nonmedical drivers of health. • A tool that uses AI to identify and prevent chronic conditions from occurring or worsening. Although the member has a background in finance, her colleagues in IT and clinical leadership are also equally represented as members of NewOrg, which offers solve-based resources such as hack-a-thons, a CEoH business simulator, and local innovation pop-ups to serve professionals across finance, clinical and technology functions. What she doesn’t see are the reasons behind why all of these resources are available to professionals across her health system. NewOrg’s increased resources, as a result of business combinations with associations across healthcare disciplines and foundation support, reveals new thinking and makes solve-based products available. Diversified revenue streams, an expanded portfolio of products and an enhanced benchmarking tool with advisory services and healthcare investment involvement are making all of this possible.
