Patricia Cheek met Charles Newell in STATE . They were married in 1950 and had two children. In 1961, the couple had their first divorce due to Patricia’s affair with Ed Rigdon. A year later, they remarried. A year after that, they began the second divorce proceedings due to Patricia’s affair with Ewing Dean. Patricia Newell initiated divorce proceedings much to Dr. Newell’s dismay. He was worried about the divorce’s effect on the children. Patricia, in a drunken state, later accused Dr. Newell of not loving her or the children.
