Romeo And Juliet Summary

Romeo and Juliet is a  COMEDIC TRAGEDY written by William Shakespeare, set in  VERONA, ITALY. It follows the story of  ROMEO MONTAGUE, a boy from one family, and  JULIET CAPULET, a girl from the opposing family. Their family has a history of  QUARREL, resulting in their inability to publicly express their love. Despite all, they  MARRY in secret, disregarding their family's wishes to have Juliet marry one of the prince's relatives,  PARIS. After a  BRAWL,  MERCUTIO, one of Romeo's closest friends, which of whom wasn't associated with either home, and  TYBALT, Juliet's cousin which of whom despised Romeo, dead. With the murder hanging over his head, Romeo is banished from Verona, rather than executed. His desire to see Juliet would soon lead him into trouble, sneaking in Verona to visit her. Juliet's family, unaware that she is already married to Romeo, arrange a marriage for her and Paris, leaving her untrusting of her Nurse and whole family.
