Want to read a novel in 1 hour? New technology (Spritz) allows anyone to read much faster

A Boston based startup has been working on a technology (and mobile app of course) to allow just about ANYONE to read faster.  The company, Spritz Inc, has apparently been working on this for about 3 years, but just recently made public some of their offerings and findings. So how does it work?  This speed reading technique is not about scanning and skipping words, but rather cutting out unnecessary time consuming parts of reading.  Spritz says that our eyes find an optimal recognition point for every word we read.  This “ORP” is near one of the letters of the word, and Spritz highlights this letter for us and uses that as a center point.

Spritz also says that the time consuming part of reading takes place in eye movement when your eye has to move from word to word as you read.  Spritz eliminates this by putting it all in one place as you can see in the examples below.  Amazing.  And the fact that the entire reading can take place in such a small area means endless opportunities for this technology as people are taking to smaller devices like cell phones, watches, tablets etc to get their “consumption of words” in their daily lives.  The Word Finder gives Spritz the Word Seal of Approval!    So we can basically read without having to move our eyes. We are reading much faster without sacrificing on reading comprehension.  Try it below!

Ok so you have already read faster than average if you did the first one.  Now try a lot faster than average!

350 words per minute
